ADEPORTO - PORTO ENERGY AGENCY

AdEPorto - Porto Energy Agency - is a private non-profit association with Public Utility, created on 1 March, 2007 at the initiative of the Municipality of Porto, with the support of the Intelligent Energy Europe Program, joined by a wide range of entities representing economic, scientific and social activity.

Energy sustainability and environmental responsibility are the two main lines of action of the Porto Energy Agency. Specifically, AdEPorto aims to promote innovation and the exercise of good practices by municipal managers and, in general, with all market agents and citizens, contributing to sustainable development through the intelligent use of energy and its interface with the environment.

AdEPorto aims to be a leading organization in addressing energy issues in the municipal domain, contributing to the transition to more efficient and sustainable energy systems.

In 2010, with the support of ON2, AdEPorto acquired a metropolitan scope with the admission of most of the Municipalities of the Porto Metropolitan Area north of the Douro River: Gondomar, Maia, Matosinhos, Póvoa de Varzim, Santo Tirso, Trofa and Vila do Conde, joined by Valongo, in 2015, and Paredes, in 2019. It currently operates in a territory of more than 990 km2, covering about a tenth of the Portuguese population.

In addition to the associated municipalities, AdEPorto has over 25 partner entities, from scientific and academic institutions to energy service providers or consumer protection associations.

AdEPorto's motto is “to create bonds with energy”.
