ADEPORTO - PORTO ENERGY AGENCY

AdEPorto - Porto Energy Agency is a private non-profit association, created on 1 March, 2007 at the initiative of the Municipality of Porto, with the support of the Intelligent Energy Europe Program, joined by a wide range of entities representing economic, scientific and social activity.

In 2010, with the support of ON2, AdEPorto became metropolitan in scope, with the admission of most Municipalities in the Metropolitan Area of Porto north of the River Douro: Gondomar, Maia, Matosinhos, Póvoa de Varzim, Santo Tirso, Trofa and Vila do Conde, which were joined by Valongo in 2015 and Paredes in 2019. It currently operates across an area of over 990 km2, covering about one tenth of the Portuguese population.

AdEPorto has the mission of promoting innovation, the adoption of good practices and examples to be followed by those responsible for municipal management, as well as all market agents and citizens in general, contributing to sustainable development through intelligent use of energy and its interaction with the environment. AdEPorto aims to be a leading organisation in addressing the energy problem at the municipal level, contributing to the transition to more efficient and sustainable energy systems.
