Oven
Oven
Use ceramic or glass containers if possible, as these allow cooking at temperatures around 25 °C lower;
Open the oven only when necessary;
Each time you open the oven door this causes an energy loss of at least 20 %;
Make the most of your capacity by cooking the largest number of foods at once;
Avoid preheating, especially if cooking for over 1 hour;
Turn off the oven a little before cooking ends: the residual heat will be enough to finish cooking;
Choose an oven with internal ventilation because they distribute heat better;
Keep the oven clean so that the heat reflects better, consuming less energy;
Check and clean the joints and rubber seals whenever necessary;
Adjust the temperature to the lowest possible:
Lowering the temperature from 250 °C to 200 °C results in a 37 % energy saving.
