Paredes joins the Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy

The Municipality of Paredes adhered, on the 17th of December, to the Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy, a decision approved by the Municipal Assembly.
Paredes now embraces the objective of reducing greenhouse gas emissions with a reinforcement of sustainable development and the fight against climate change in the territory.
Launched by the European Commission in 2008, the Covenant of Mayors, updated in 2015 to the Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy, aims to unite local governments that voluntarily commit to improving the quality of life of citizens through the fight against global warming.
With the adhesion of the Municipality of Paredes to the Pact of Mayors for Climate and Energy, all the municipalities of the Porto Energy Agency now become part of this initiative.
