The Freguesias+Eficientes Competition and the Integrated Energy Efficiency Programme for IPSS (PIEE-IPSS) launched in 2018, had as main objective to train Civil Parish Councils, Unions of Civil Parishes and IPSS to be more energy efficient.
Under the scope of these projects, AdEPorto - Porto Energy Agency promoted training actions with the technicians working for the Parishes and IPSS and supported the execution of their applications.
As a result of this programme, three Civil Parish Councils in the area covered by AdEPorto and an IPSS were awarded, namely, the Union of Civil Parishes of Fânzeres and São Pedro da Cova with a prestigious second place, the Civil Parish Council of Vila de Moreira, and the Union of Civil Parishes of Aldoar, Foz do Douro and Nevogilde with two honourable mentions. The winning IPSS was the Social and Parish Centre of Imaculado Coração de Maria de Irivo. The prizes to be awarded will translate into financing for the implementation of additional measures and/or equipment with greater energy efficiency.
